Organic Vineyard Peter Paradeiser
Austria - Wagram www.peter-paradeiser.at Winery description: We understand organic viticulture as a passion and cultivate in harmony with nature. Since the 2013 vintage, our vineyard in Fels am Wagram has been a recognised and certified organic wine farm. The first resistant varieties were harvested in 2014. With the small but very exquisite wine production, we want to preserve wine culture and bring it closer to others. With a lot of love, hard work and patience, we realise the guiding principle of "quality as the highest commandment". Taste for yourself how exquisite wine can really taste. The first wine was already cultivated by my ancestors in the 17th century and the treasure of experience from many generations still fascinates me today. When I took over in 1985, the vineyards were replanted, and over the years the cultivation area was expanded to 1.8 hectares, a press house and wine cellar were built, thus creating the framework conditions for economic yet environmentally friendly quality wine production. Our carefully tended vineyards are located in the Scheibe, Brunnthal and Mitterweg vineyards. Next to the Main variety Grüner Veltiner we offer a rich selection of varieties - e.g. Riesling, Sauvignon blanc, Yellow Muscat, Chardonnay - which grow excellently in the loess. All pruning and foliage work is done by hand, deliberately keeping the yield low to maintain the unique quality. The microclimate and the loess soils in Fels am Wagram provide the ideal starting conditions for an excellent wine that impresses with its fine sensory and mineral qualities. The wine matures for the most part in wooden barrels and thus receives its special note. Of course, a lot of skill and patience are also required in the cellar to achieve high quality.
