Dominio de Punctum
Spain - Castilla - La Mancha www.dominiodepunctum.com Winery description: The Fernández family has many decades of experience in the wine business. Seven generations worked as grape growers on the ancient wine land. Then the eighth generation, with Jesus Fernández and his sister, the oenologist Ruth Fernández, decided to found a bodega and fill their own wine brands. The family-owned Finca Fabian, where the spacious winery is located, has 200 hectares of vineyards in the immediate vicinity of the modern winery, which have been sustainably cultivated organically and biodynamically (certified by Demeter) since 2005. Dominio de Punctum produces its wines only from these own vineyards, a lovingly tended ecosystem full of life. Not only do they have excellent aroma and delicate taste, but they are also a natural and authentic expression of the terroir and allow wine lovers all over the world to enjoy them free of chemicals. The vast plateau of southern Castile here is around 700 metres above sea level and is characterised by sandy-loamy soils with a high proportion of limestone. In the warm continental climate with strong temperature fluctuations between day and night, the family planted both autochthonous Spanish grape varieties, such as Tempranillo or Graciano, as well as international varieties, such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, which develop their own style here, shaped by the terroir of the plateau.
