Winery Forster
Germany - Nahe www.weingutforster.de Winery description: Since 1994, we have been cultivating our vineyards ecologically in order to contribute what we can to the preservation of an intact soil and a diverse environment. Our vines grow in the wine-growing region of Nahe, an insider tip among wine connoisseurs. We currently cultivate ~ 24 ha of vineyards in the districts of Rümmelsheim / Burg-Layen, Dorsheim and Laubenheim with very different soil types: Rotliegendes, loess. Loam, quartzite, weathered slate, porphyry and clay soils overlaid with gravel. As a family business, we focus more on class than on mass. Lower harvest yields due to organic farming methods lead to a more concentrated taste profile of our wines. Due to the soil structure, the mineral character of the Riesling or the power of the Burgundy, for example, is emphasised. It goes without saying that the white wines are matured in stainless steel and the red wines are matured in wooden barrels for a long time in order to preserve and further develop the characteristics of the wines. As a family, we enjoy working together in and with nature and are happy about the "grounding" that our children receive as a result.
