Bodegas Y Vinedos Quaderna Via
Spain - Navarre www.quadernavia.com Winery description: You almost feel like you're in a mountain village in Estella. As the crow flies, it is only a few tens of kilometres to the Atlantic Ocean in the north. The brothers Raul and Jorge Ripa, both studied oenologists, have replanted the inherited 80 hectares of vineyards within a few years. In the meantime, they have also built a new wine cellar for it, with a pneumatic press, temperature-controlled fermentation tanks and cooled barrique storage. They have also set up an organic wine museum, which is well frequented due to its proximity to the Way of St. James. The organic wines are convincing across the board. Even older vintages are characterised by liveliness and freshness, the relatively high altitudes and the nearby mountains are noticeable here. The hierarchy is coherent, from the youthfully fresh Initium and the fruit bomb Maceration (soon available from us) to the delicate, ripe Reserva. What they all have in common is a very good relationship between price and wine quality.
