Artner Organic Vineyard
Austria - Carnuntum www.bodentreu.at Description du domaine : The Carnuntum wine-growing region is situated around the villages of Göttlesbrunn, Höflein and Prellenkirchen. Viticulture is extremely favoured by the climatic influence of Lake Neusiedl and the Danube; sand, loam, gravel and loess are the predominant soils. Long overshadowed by the better-known wine-growing areas, Göttlesbrunn has gone from being an insider tip to a shining star. Responsible for this are the strong soils, the influence of the Pannonian microclimate, as well as the cool winds from the Danube floodplains and, above all, the winegrowers of the region who knew how to use the potential. The much sought-after wines have juice and power, such as the fruity elegant Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Rheinriesling, Gelber Muskateller as well as the muscular Burgundy varieties and Sauvignon blanc. The red wine varieties in particular, but also the cuvees of autochthonous and international grape varieties, have played a significant role in the recent successes of this dynamic region. The ticket to the wine Olympus, however, were the monumental red wines, with their lush fruit and ripe tannins, explosive Zweigelt, dark fruity Roesler, velvety Pinot Noir and, in recent years, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, compact Merlot and spicy Syrah.
