First contest with the extensive rebranding: WINE SYSTEM invites to join the autumn Tasting of ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL

New Look, New Name, New Date: The PAR® Tasting will occur October 01st -04th, 2021. Registration Deadline - September 10th, 2021.

Frasdorf, July 2021 – With a new brand image and keeping the full excitement for both most essential topics – wine and sensory, Wine System – Trust Your Senses invites you to join the fourteenth ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL, which is now the universal international name for the famous international organic wine award. Four days are scheduled for the autumn edition of the contest that will be definitely necessary to ensure that the high PAR®- Standards are fulfilled despite the leaping number of participants. It is still unclear whether the competition could be the first presence event since the beginning of the pandemic *)Notwithstanding this circumstance, all participants may rely on resided objectivity, transparency and clarity of high-quality assessment. Each submitted organic wine will receive due attention by estimating beyond trends and standards based on the product itself, its origin and individual workmanship.

Likewise, for all high-quality contests by WINE SYSTEM, the forthcoming autumn event will run according to the PAR® testing method, the reliability of which is highly internationally acknowledged, and that receives an additional benefit attribute of „Trust your Senses“. It is an invitation to give more attention to own senses and to create a first-hand impression in a self-assured and critical way. The comprehensive PAR® training provides precisely this ability to the ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL Jury – trust in their own senses based on knowledge about the biology of vine and craftmanship, ecology, cellar techniques and sensory implications on the final product.

Differentiated assessment, even if it gets tricky

Each submitted wine receives transparent documentation of its sensory characteristics and enological features assessed regarding origin, climate, style and marketability. By this means, a reductively made fruity white wine with modern stylistics obtains the same objective evaluation and appreciation as classically crafted terroir wine or an original Orange.

For the sake of wine – Spring and Autumn Edition since 2020

By popular demand of wine creators, the regular early summer issue of ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL was amended by an autumn edition last year, with a positive response. Autumn is the perfect season for wines with longer maturing potential or young wines benefitting from more extended storage on yeasts or ageing in barrique and amphora.
Besides marketing benefits brought by this established competition, many wine-growers appreciate the revealing analyses underlying the PAR®-assessment. They precisely show which criteria have led to matching results and provide a practical manual for quality management.

Supplementary Information

*) Should the pandemic situation require, the ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL 2021 will be conducted online. The submitted wines are classified in the climatic, stylistic and analytic parameters. The wines are anonymised and numbered before sent, unpacked and presented in the determined order to the jury consisting of PAR® Certified Masters. As required by the PAR® methods, also the online tasting edition is operated by teams of two auditors who first taste each wine separately followed by the discussion that leads to consensus and final results.

Assessment with PAR®: Thanks to the transparency of the internationally recognized sensory testing system PAR, each submitted organic wine receives replicable and objective documentation of its sensory and oenological characteristics, respectively its authenticity, origin, and style. The PAR® training enables the qualified jury consisting of "PAR® Certified Masters", for the most part, oenologists, sommeliers verified by the CCI and appropriately qualified wine experts to assess each wine neutrally, excluding personal preferences or preconceived opinions regarding "good taste". In contemporary oenology, new international styles, likewise the traditionally made wines, experience appreciation and acceptance. The reproducible and differentiated methodology underlying the tasting provides the added value brought by this contest to the participants, far exceeding the pure marketing benefits. The detailed PAR® evaluation sheet is a proof instrument for quality management of wine-growing production.
