Austria - Burgenland - Lake Neusiedl www.wein-shop.at    Winery description: The Julius Hafner wine estate is a family business (HAFNER - Family Estate) and is located in Mönchhof, the oldest wine-growing community in Austria (viticulture since 1217), about 50 kilometres from Vienna on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl. Due to the influence of the lake, the Pannonian climate, hot summer days and mild warm days in late autumn, is the ideal basis for the production of high-quality top wines. "Tradition and innovation" is our farm philosophy. HAFNER was the first producer of ICE WINE (1971) and for a long time the only producer of COSHER WINE (since 1980) in Austria. The sunny Burgenland was part of Hungary until 1921 and had a long tradition of kosher winemaking and was called "Sheva Kehillos". Since 2008 we are also registered as an organic winery and cultivate vineyards according to the guidelines of Bio Austria u. Austria Bio Garantie, whereby conscious yield reduction, preservation of soil health and soil reserves and a late harvest guarantee the optimum in grape quality. Kosher AND organic is the only combination worldwide and our products are also very popular on many export markets due to their naturalness and digestibility. Our customers are at home in over 40 countries on all continents and enjoy the 35 wines, grape juices, grappa and brandies as well as frizzante and sparkling wines of the highest quality!
