Austria - Burgenland - Lake Neusiedl www.weingut-haider.at Winery description: The Haider family has been pressing wines of the highest quality for four generations in the middle of the Neusiedler See - Seewinkel National Park. Love and respect for nature as well as for people are paramount. Out of a desire for constant development, winemaker Berthold and his wife Eva-Maria converted the farm to biodynamic farming in 2016 with great enthusiasm after switching to organic farming in 2012. Chickens, pigeons and a herd of friendly goats enliven the winegrowing family's farm. In addition to the wines, fresh goat milk, delicious fresh goat cheese, eggs, honey and grape must are available seasonally. The vines thrive on sandy and gravelly brown earth soils under the careful care of the winemaker and with over 300 days of sunshine a year. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and all wines ferment spontaneously without the addition of pure yeasts. The DEMETER certified wines are allowed to mature in peace and are left natural (vegan, minimised use of sulphur...). A part of nature has thus been preserved with great care.
