Our goal is to produce authentic wines able to reflects the character of the Andean soils, innovating Argentinian wine tradition. In 2012 we started a process to change our viticultural approach and adopt organic and biodynamic method. At the moment Chakana owns five vineyards: - the “original” one in Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo which is organic and biodynamic certified by Demeter and where the winery is located - a smaller vineyard in Mayor Drummond, Lujan de Cuyo - three vineyards in Uco Valley, south of Mendoza, where some of the best Argentinian wines come from – due to its higher altitude and more complex soils. Among these, two vineyards are located in Paraje Altamira IG, where we produce our high-end wines, and one new vineyard is in Gualtallari, probably the trendiest area in the country due to its unique climate and soils characteristic.
