Winery Burkhart
Germany - Baden - Kaiserstuhl www.weingut-burkhart.de Description du domaine : Our family-run Burkhart winery is located in the midst of the sun-drenched vineyards in Jechtingen am Kaiserstuhl. Marco Burkhart's parents decided to go organic 40 years ago. With a passion for wine and nature, they pioneered the winery. Since 2017, Marco Burkhart has continued to run the winery with the same passion and conviction. Quality comes first, so organic cultivation is a matter of the heart for us. We work with organic fertiliser, vineyard greening and self-developed plant products and thus create optimal conditions for vines and beneficial insects. By working the soil with Effective Microorganisms, so-called EM, the microbial soil life is reactivated, maintained and provides the vines with the best possible conditions from the root onwards. During vinification, we focus on gentle treatment with minimal intervention in the natural structure of the wines. This allows the terroir to unfold in the glass. We focus on Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Since 2019, we have been planting more robust grape varieties that do not require spraying in good years. We already have one variety in our range, Johanniter. Since 2011, a coffee roastery has also been located on the farm, which delights a growing clientele with organic coffee. The coffee is roasted daily in small batches on an artisanal drum roaster. Direct contact with the coffee farmers enables fair payment to the producers. |
