Focus on quality assurance and innovation: the results of the WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL 2024

In the context of declining wine sales figures, the topics of quality documentation and wine optimisation are becoming increasingly important in many countries. It is in this environment that WINE SYSTEM has established its position - with differentiated quality tests that make precisely this possible. The first award of the year, the WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL, was held last weekend and the PAR®-certified jury identified two clear currents: Wines that are fruity, clear and brilliant, characterised by reductive stylistics and modern winemaking, and the still growing trend of orange, natural and unsulphured wines.

When courage meets skill: Quality leaps at the ORGANIC and PIWI WINE AWARDs INTERNATIONAL in autumn 2023

Key topics: high average level, oenological adaptability, quality management and the value of sensory tools.

Frasdorf, October 2023 - There were two awards on the tasting tables of the WINE SYSTEM jury last weekend: the fall editions of ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL and PIWI WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL. Both surprised with significantly increased average levels - remarkable, given the climatic challenges in viticulture worldwide. The jury sees one reason for the upward trend in the combination of oenological courage and expertise. Old standards have been dropped in many cases. They are making way for new styles in the service of quality.

WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL publishes Winter Ranking 2023

For the 3rd time since the launch of the thematically open award, the WINE SYSTEM jury tasted the WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL at the beginning of March. It is the first in the annual program and it is highly rated by the PAR® Certified Master Jury. The reason: the oenological diversity. Traditional craftsmanship, modern winemaking and experimental wines, rare grape varieties, diverse origins - everything is there and thanks to PAR® the team is methodically well equipped. A look at the 13 Grand Gold wines gives an idea of the range. They come from 7 countries in the most diverse climatic zones and show that quality is anything but uniform: from natural red wines from Sweden to traditional Vin Santo from Italy to modern 99-point white wines from Portugal aged reductively in steel tanks. In additional, 111 wines were awarded gold, 125 silver and 34 bronze.

Italy's winemakers achieve 4 times Grand Gold, 34 times Gold, 36 times Silver and 10 Bronze
