In 2017, our current owner acquired the domaine de La Clausade, previously used for the cultivation of céréales. His ambition was to create his own vineyard, and the terraces on the estate proved to be perfect for this venture. The main challenge was to produce organic wine while preserving the health of the soil.

After the restoration of the old building in Mauguio, in the south-west of the Hérault, the La Clausade team embarked on the creation of its first organic cuvées.

The domaine comprises cinq mas, each bearing the name of different cépages. In 2019, the team undertook the plantation of 16 hectares of vines around the estate, choosing naturally disease-resistant varieties such as Souvignier gris, Muscaris, Soreli, Floréal, Artaban and Vidoc. This choice allows them to work without resorting to chemical treatments, in favour of the production of responsible organic wines and the preservation of biodiversity. The domain is located at the heart of Occitania, where the soils are preserved and conserved.

We aim to allow the singularity of the Mauguio soils to express itself in each La Clausade bottle, based on sustainable viticulture.
