The Counts of Neipperg are said to have brought Lemberger to Germany in the 18th century. At any rate, it was from here that this sophisticated variety began its triumphal march at the beginning of the 20th century: as a German red wine that can easily achieve international stature: strong in colour, full-bodied and with powerful tannins. The classic grape varieties of the region, vinified dry and matured in the enormous wooden barrels in the castle cellar - that has always been the style of the house. We also feel historically connected to the white specialities Muskateller and Traminer.
