The first part of the prestigious PAR® Tasting will run May 13th-16th. If your organic wines should be given more time to develop, use the Autumn Edition that will take place in October.
Frasdorf, January 2022 – In May 2022, the motto ‚Trust your Senses‘ becomes meaningful yet again because the WINE SYSTEM Jury will gather to run the 15th ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL. Precisely for this purpose, a number of 60 PAR® Certified Masters as a part of the Jury run through ongoing training. The secret behind the success of PAR® premium contests is the applicability of the results. Each point is more or less justifiable, and each tasting parameter is documented – a genuine rough diamond for quality management. Moreover, in case of success, a promotional medal is available too. The registration for the Spring Tasting is open now under winesystem.de/organic-wine-award/register . Registration deadline April 22nd, 2022.
Organic wines from all over the world illustrating all their colours, styles, regional expression are the ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL. For more than ten years, it has demonstrated the potential of „bio“, the worldwide development of the scene and the trends it deals with. The reason for the ability of the tasting to assess objectively and transparently is the sophisticated tool called PAR®.
Differentiated Assessment, Even If It Gets Tricky
The analytical and documental approach of the PAR® system allows the objective assessment of the diversity during the contest of this kind beyond the simple comparative tests. Each submitted wine receives transparent documentation of its sensory characteristics and enological features assessed regarding origin, climate, style and marketability. By this means, a reductively made fruity white wine with modern stylistics obtains the same objective evaluation and appreciation as classically crafted terroir wine or an original Orange. Each wine is ranked in always matching categories to provide the participants‘ overview of their performance on an international comparison.
For The Sake Of Wine – Spring AND Autumn Edition Since 2020
Since 2020, the ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL has taken place twice a year – in May and October. The reasons are as follows – wines with higher maturing potential and young wines that start to show advantage by the more extended storage on yeast or maturation in barrique and amphora can participate in the Autumn edition. The Autumn Tasting will take place on October 07th – 10th, 2022. The participants in the Spring Edition who want to submit for Autumn again will receive 20% off. Supplementary Information
*) Should the pandemic situation require ORGANIC WINE AWARD INTERNATIONAL 2022 will run in an online format again. The wines are thematically allocated (climatical, stylistic and analytical parameters) anonymised and numbered before being unpacked and presented in the determined order. In compliance with the PAR® method, also online, the auditors operate in a crew of two. At the first step, each wine is tasted separately. A discussion follows this process. Once a consensus is reached, the results are thoroughly documented. |

Assessment with PAR®: Thanks to the transparency of the internationally recognized sensory testing system PAR, each submitted organic wine receives replicable and objective documentation of its sensory and oenological characteristics, respectively its authenticity, origin, and style. The PAR® training enables the qualified jury consisting of „PAR® Certified Masters“, for the most part, oenologists, sommeliers verified by the CCI and appropriately qualified wine experts to assess each wine neutrally, excluding personal preferences or preconceived opinions regarding “good taste.” In contemporary oenology, new international styles, likewise the traditionally made wines, experience appreciation and acceptance. The reproducible and differentiated methodology underlying the tasting provides the added value brought by this contest to the participants, far exceeding the pure marketing benefits. The detailed PAR® evaluation sheet is a proof instrument for quality management of wine-growing production.
